How to use Ccleaner


If you don't already have Ccleaner installed on your computer system please download it here.


Ccleaner is a utility which safely removes unwanted files from your computer. These files include temporary files, temporary internet files, and log files. It can also fix problems in the system registry.

There are two main step to using Ccleaner, running the Cleaner, and running the Registry Cleaner.

Running the Cleaner



Step 1 : On the main window of Ccleaner make sure that you have the Cleaner button selected. Then click the Run Cleaner button.

Step 2 : On the popup window click OK to begin computer cleanup. You may also check the don't show me this message again option to avoid seeing this message in the future.



Step 3 : Once cleanup is finished you will see a window similar to this one.

Scanning the Registry with Ccleaner



Step 1 : Make sure that the Registry button is selected and then click Scan for Issues.



Step 2: Next click the Fix selected issues button.

Step 3 : On the next popup you can click no to not backup the changes. This program can be trusted however if you would like to backup the changes just click Yes and save the file where you can find it later.



Step 4 : Next click the Fix All Selected Issues button.

Step 5 : On the next popup click OK to confirm.



Step 6 : When the repair is finished click the Close button.

Step 7 : This process may need to be completed several times to completely repair the registry. Follow steps 1 to 6 until you see the screen shown in this picture. When no problems are found you are finished and can exit Ccleaner.
